Carmen Miranda !
She wore fruit on her head…do I need to say more ?
She was Brazil’s Bombshell and she made a lot of South American music commercial in North America. At the time she was critisized for “giving into American commercialism” and people said she was reflecting a false image of Brazil. But they must have loved her for when she died 60,000 people attended her funeral. From what I’ve seen of her, I love her ! She was a 1930s pop star in my eyes. And she had a fabulous shoe collection. I’m pretty sure there’s a museum of all her shoes in Rio !
This is my favourite of her songs Chica Chica Boom Chic !

Faile BAST Deluxx FLUXX

Faile and BAST have put together a show in London at Lizarades, Greek St. It’s made up of pin ball machines and foozeball games too.
Faile are a Brooklyn-based collaborative duo and some of the pioneers of street art. They’ve worked together for 10 years but have hardly ever been filmed on camera. Long-time collaborator BAST is also from Brooklyn has rarely been seen in public. His very existence has been debated ! Similar to other Street artists (got to see ‘Exit through the Gift Shop’.
Originally I think they just wanted to collaborate on anything and then the idea of an arcade began and led to this…
It looks amazing and I’m going to head down there this weekend. Maybe see you there !
The exhibiton is until March 19th so get down and see it !

This is my interview I did straight after the Eun Jeong show with Live from London Fashion week…they whisked me up to a hotel suite they’d rented out for their studio for the week and plonked me on this chair and we went live streaming on the internet…
