The Government plans to sell 637,000 acres of English Forests which is absolutely bonkers !
Does it even belong to them ?
It should belong to the people.
The risk is, if private companies own the forests, they won’t be able to stop themselves from financially exploiting them. That’s what companies are like. That’s why we need the government to manage them for the benefit of the nation.
The guardian have spoken more on it HERE
Aung San Suu Kyi is my laydee of the week. I should have put her in 2 weeks ago since she made headlines and got out of prison. I’ve been thinking about her a lot since then and can’t imagine what it must be like to live in a democratic country and not be free like we are in Europe. Her bravery shows no limits and if I put myself in her shoes I don’t think I could be as strong as her. I hope she and so many in Burma get what they’re fighting so hard for.
